Summary: Marcy Benton, Publix’s VP of Human Resources, will discuss the importance of having a clear vision, having the right people, building strong relationships with focus, and how these are the foundational concepts of effective Human Resources management. She will discuss the CEO’s needs from HR, including how HR can be a partner, how HR can drive the business, and how HR can stay future-focused to ensure continued success. Once these concepts are understood, she will explain how these strategies can be used to take action.
Speaker Bio: Marcy Benton has spent over 25 years at the largest grocer in the state of Florida - Publix Supermarkets. Starting as an expense accounting clerk, she has made her way through multiple business areas to include investigations and associate relations in both their retail and support divisions. Her expertise and forward thinking held her hold positions as the Director of Associate Relations and the Vice President of Talent Management. In July of 2018, she was named the Vice President of Human Resources for the organization.
Marcy is a Lakeland, FL native and lives here with her husband and son. She is heavily involved in the community, working with United Way and Junior Achievement, among other organizations. When she has free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and attending her son's many sporting events.
