Guest Speaker: Steve Scruggs

Steve Scruggs, President of the Lakeland Economic Development Council and general champion of Lakeland and the surrounding area, will be sharing all the great aspects of our region and reviewing strategies to recruit and retain talented employees.

He will also expand on how “YLakeland” (part of Catapult Lakeland, an initiative of the Lakeland Economic Development Council) helps connect students, young professionals, and new people to Central Florida with the community and assets that make Lakeland unique. They will keep you in the know on events, things to do, new businesses, and much more. They strive to give you an insider’s perspective on the amazing things our community has to offer and the people that make living in Lakeland such a wonderful place to call home.

Bio: Steve Scruggs is President of the Lakeland Economic Development Council (LEDC), a private, non-profit organization with approximately 140 member companies. He has been with the LEDC over 34 years.

Steve received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama and his Master’s Degree in Economic Development at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Steve is married to Tammy and they have three children. He is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
