Speaker: Ella Kimbrel
GED to SVP: Leadership Strategies I Learned on the Journey to My Seat at the Table
If you had asked me 40 years ago where I would be at 55, I would have said, “planning on retiring as a school teacher.” Often, the dreams we have as kids do not always work out, and we find ourselves on a completely different path. Like many HR professionals, I did not begin my career in HR; instead, I fell into it and grew where I was planted. In this session, I will share the valuable leadership strategies I learned in over 25 years of working in the field of HR, from early days in my first HR role to today as a senior vice president.
Identify strategies that limit us from advancing in our career
Learn alternative strategies that will positively impact our careers in new and better ways
Understand that we must adopt a strategy of beginning with the end in mind, focusing on the right things at the right time.
